Prayer & Liturgy
Prayer and Liturgy in a Catholic school is concerned with giving glory, honour, praise and thanks to God. It is our loving response, in word and action, to God’s invitation to enter into friendship, made possible through Jesus, God’s Son, and the witness of the Holy Spirit. It is an integral part of the life of the Catholic school, putting Christ at the centre of education, helping to create and sustain the Catholic ethos, making it tangible.
Ten: Ten
As a school we use the Diocesan recommended Ten:Ten resources within our daily prayers. Every day, we pause and listen to the week's scripture and reflect on its meaning. During these moments, we may seek guidance, celebrate or give thanks to God. Click below to see the overview for this term.
Daily Prayer OverviewStatements to Live By
These statements help the children and all of us adults too, to think about who we are, what we believe and what we hope to become. We hope that together we will nurture a sense of what it is to be fully human and alive as children and adults sharing in this Christian community.
There are 36 statements in all which are linked to our Religious Education programme and the Catholic life of the school but each one is relevant no matter what our religious beliefs are.
Each statement will be supported by activities in school such as ‘Circle Time’ and each statement will be celebrated in prayer. The statements will be displayed in each class, on our newsletters and around the school. Sometimes, we will suggest a simple activity which you might carry out with your child.
